Do you have hard water marks on your windows? This is a common problem especially in areas that have hard water issues. Arizona water on average ranges from 400-700 parts per million when the national average is in the 200’s. Preventing hard water marks on your windows may be impossible but here are a few things you can do to help lessen the severity of Arizona’s hard water problem.

You may have a Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtering system in your home that can reduce the impurities in your water but it’s not likely or economical to filter your outside hose or irrigation water. Make sure your sprinklers are not broken or position correctly so they are not leaving standing water on your windows. This build up over time causes serious hard water scale on your windows. It’s also a good idea if you need to hose down your windows is to not let the water dry on them. Wipe them down to help prevent scale and build up.
